How long can liquid nitrogen stay liquid?

Nitrogen storage containers come in different sizes and insulation types, they are not under pressure and the liquid will evaporate. 333 days seems to be the maximum number of days it can be stored.

How does liquid nitrogen explode?

When vaporized, it expands 700 times; one liter of liquid nitrogen becomes 24.6 cubic feet of nitrogen. This could cause an airtight container to explode, or it could displace oxygen in the room and cause suffocation without warning.
