The O2/N2/Ar Booster, like a human being, is also afraid of high temperatures. In a high-temperature environment, it not only causes the  components to age rapidly, but also reduces the reliability and lifespan of the  components.

 

Therefore, during the hot season, some measures need to be taken to lower the temperature of the Booster, so as to enhance its reliability and extend its service life.

 

Method 1: By extending the idle running time during parking, the temperature of the Booster bearings will not rise due to thermal shutdown. Due to the high ambient temperature in summer, the Booster’s heat dissipation is slower compared to other seasons. Therefore, extending the idle time in summer can effectively reduce the temperature of the Booster bearings.

Method 2: Reduce operation under low speed and high torque conditions. When operating at low speed and high torque, the air-fuel ratio is very low, causing the exhaust temperature of the engine to be high, which leads to a very high temperature of the Booster. Moreover, the ambient temperature is also high, making it difficult to dissipate heat. As a result, the temperature of the Booster components will be relatively high. However, at high speeds, due to the high air-fuel ratio, the exhaust temperature is low, and the flow rate is large, which can effectively reduce the temperature of the Booster.

 

Regular maintenance can continuously ensure the smooth flow of engine oil and cooling pipelines, quickly dissipating the high temperature of the turbine. Under high-temperature conditions, it is less likely to cause overheating, carbon deposits, and avoid excessive wear of the turbine bearing and oil seal leakage. It significantly reduces the occurrence of high-temperature locking faults and extends the service life of the Booster.

After the cooling and lubrication conditions are stable, the turbine’s intake efficiency does not decrease, the power output is stable, the fuel consumption is lower, and at the same time, it reduces the metal deformation caused by high temperatures, lowers the maintenance and replacement costs, and significantly reduces the failure rate during high-temperature and heavy-load driving.
